How to change mac address of your System ?

Hello Guys , so today we will see how to change the mac address of your system.
first of all

Whats is MAC ?

as we know full form of MAC is Media Access Control  . But  question is what is MAC .

basically MAC is unique identify assigned to network card while manufacturing . This is physical address of card which is permanent. This is used to uniquely identify the end user of communication.

Let's take a scenario , two system wanted to connect . so basically both will have source and destination mac address. That is both the end user knows their and opponent address . 

Can MAC Address be Changed ? 

yes , it can be changed for temporary . But this will not change physical address . It will just peretend to be other.

Whats the Use of Changing MAC ?

Suppose there is any wifi network you want to hack . So how can you do that with mac address .

As we know if some client is connected to that network then both will know the mac address of each other . So what we can do is that we can pretent client as we are wifi network . then client will try to connect us and we will have their information .

How to Change MAC Address ?

Changing the mac address is 3 step procedure 

first take down your network card

change the mac address 

and then again up the network card

So lets do it practically

first of all open your terminal

1. and type iwconfig

it will show you all the network card now choose the one which is active and

2.  type

ifconfig [network_card_name] down

 3. to change mac address type

macchanger -m [NEW_MAC_Address] [network_card_name]

4. Now type 

ifconfig [network_card_name] down
